Never Underestimate The Power of 'One'

Purple Ladybug (that's me) believes in the strong power of 'ONE'...one person, one smile, one hug or ? All it takes is 'ONE' thing to happen during your day to change the way you feel, it may be amazing or even heartbreaking. We face many 'ONE's each and every day, so join me as I take my future 'ONE' day at a time and write about my journey as a cancer conquerer and the 'ONE's in my daily life.

Day 378 - 'one' step to real growth, change and healing

Yep, I feel like I'm making progress again, at least I think so!  I seem to be able to catch myself before old habits become entrenched again. I have  noticed over the last couple days that I have felt scattered, a little impatient, stir crazy if you will.  My knee has been doing the nervous up and downs when I'm sitting and my brain is in a 'to-do idea' mode all the time.  It just didn't feel right...
I didn't seem to have that settled feeling that I have had the last few months, I was loosing the ability to enjoy the moment...ahhh old habits are beginning to return.  Not good!

As I was writing in my journal this morning which is part as you know, of my daily routine. I realized that my brain has been struggling to accept things as they are.  If you can't accept things as they are, you are constantly rejecting the present-moment reality. Having a desire for things to be other than they way they actually are is simply wishful thinking.  You start feeling frustrated that you are not getting any where or you get discouraged, feel overwhelmed, lose hope, blame other people and therefore no change really occurs.

True growth, change and healing can only happen through the acceptance of the present moment, no matter how painful or frightening or undesirable it may be.  You cannot fail if you are willing to be with things as they are...such as your job, your health, your home, the way you look, the amount of money you have, the way your family is...etc etc.

An example would be if someone is not doing things the way you think they should be doing them. It can irritate you to no end but if you 'just accept' that that's the way they are and that's ok, it can actually allow you to feel settled inside and help you realize that you are the one that is causing all the turmoil inside, that person is not doing it to you, you are doing it yourself!

Through the acceptance of the way things are you will begin to feel inner peace and teach yourself that accepting things as they are will give you such freedom and a clear brain to see the world as it is and not as you 'wish' it could be.

So today I will focus on reminding myself of the way things are and realize that thoughts will come into my mind but they are not reality and I will start to adjust my thinking to getting on my hip waders and delving into my world and all the amazing moments that happen throughout today...only today!

signed 'one' purple ladybug on the road to growth, change and healing, man it's bumpy! LOL

It may be when we no longer know what to do, we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey.
