Never Underestimate The Power of 'One'

Purple Ladybug (that's me) believes in the strong power of 'ONE'...one person, one smile, one hug or ? All it takes is 'ONE' thing to happen during your day to change the way you feel, it may be amazing or even heartbreaking. We face many 'ONE's each and every day, so join me as I take my future 'ONE' day at a time and write about my journey as a cancer conquerer and the 'ONE's in my daily life.

Day 237 - 'one' snow picnic

Well if the snow won't come to us, we go to the snow.  Yesterday was the beginning to what I hope will be many adventures.  Adventures are different now.  We modify our usual way of doing things so that we can go and spend some quality time together.
Since every day is filled with something to do with 'c', it's nice to get out and just forget about it for awhile. I can do more than I cannot but our priorities for going out are definitely different.

We headed out to a local mountain with picnic and camera packed.  It seems to get to the destinations we love we must first muddle through all the traffic and city stuff. Similar to life, you must go the dirt and sand before you can find the gold.  But we found what we were looking for.  Quiet, beauty and the ability to explore.  Even when we go on excursions and tours we like to hit the non touristy areas the best.  This is where you learn more and can see things as they truly are, not as they are posed to look.

It didn't feel like a modified adventure until Ray wanted to go up a trail that was a little steep.  He likes the shorter distances to walk and that was the shortest way back to the truck.  But we agreed that we'd stop at each point when I needed it.  Low and behold no stopping was necessary.  Actually Ray was huffing and puffing more than me! LOL

We found an snowy alcove where the tractor had cleared and we setup our snow picnic.  We LOVED it.  We sat and watched the skiers up the top of the mountain enjoying their fun as we laughed and enjoyed our own.  It was so quiet and the snow started falling while we were there, who could ask for more.

The leprechauns who came
and decorated my entry.
So what may not be exciting for some is what we enjoy.  A chance to enjoy life as it is and it is GREAT! So thanks mountain for being so close, thanks snow for falling just for us, thanks people for letting us have a quiet corner to ourselves and thanks for the memories that will be forever in our brains.  hmmmm what shall be our next adventure... ;-)

It may be when we no longer know what to do, we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey.
